Dean Charles


Dean’s media career started at Bloomberg as Camera operator, where he first cut his teeth into Directing while filming ‘Money Maker Profile’ – working with personalities such as; Sir Bob Geldof, Sir Michael Heseltine, Sir Richard Branson and Lord Brown. Dean’s first film, ‘The Birthday Treat’ won ‘Best Short Film” at the BFM International Film Festival. His second film ‘Megaman’, was in the regional finals for a BAFTA short film competition. His debut feature film ‘Hard Time Bus’ won ‘Best Film’ at the Hollywood Black Film Festival and nominated for ‘Best Film’ and ‘Best Director’ at the American Black Film Festival.

Nicola Gregory


Nicola has always had a penchant for great narrative. Soon after creating Canada’s largest independent music and entertainment monthly magazine, she launched a boutique marketing agency and created campaigns for various Fortune 500 companies. Her experience heading up her own agency overseeing strategy and execution has helped her balance the creative with the business. Now based in the UK, she has established herself as an award-winning producer and savvy businesswoman. Nicola brings creative energy and established local and international industry relationships to all projects.

Roger Griffiths

Head of Development/Producer

Roger co-founded ‘The Posse’ – a group of eight actors who wrote, directed, produced and performed their own work, including: ‘Black To Basics; Dog Eat Dog’, ‘Armed And Dangerous 1 & 2’.  Roger also directed & script edited comedy-drama ‘5s A Crowd’. Film credits: ‘Hard Time Bus’, ‘Batman Begins’ and ‘Communion’. TV credits: CHEF!, ‘Dubplate Drama’ with regular roles on ‘Doctors’, ‘Vexed’ and ‘Death In Paradise’. Roger is the Co-founder of Eye 2 Eye Productions, specialising in interactive workshops for the public and private sectors.  At 2HOTFILMS, Roger is responsible for the creative process on a slate of films from concept to delivery.

Lance Nielsen


Lance studied at the Epsom School of Art in Surrey. Since 1997 he has directed 12 Theatrical Productions in London, the first of which was ‘Waiting For Hillsborough’, won him critical acclaim and the best talent in new writing with the Liverpool Art and Entertainment awards. He received Time Out’s critic’s choice for his play about The Victoria Climbie and Marchioness inquiries and a Peter Brook empty space award for the black comedy ‘Making Time’. His recent feature film, ‘The Journey’ brought him a nomination for “Best Screenplay” and a “Best Director” award at the St Tropez International Film Festival.

Owen Mowatt


Owen’s first short film ‘The Birthday Treat’ won “Best Film” at the BFM International Film Festival and the Audience Award Screen Test Birmingham. It was also nominated for “Best Comedy” at the Portobello Film Festival in London. Following up on that success, he embarked on his first feature film, ‘Hard Time Bus’ which won “Best Feature” at the Hollywood Black Film Festival, “Best Festival Feature” at the MVSA’s and was nominated for “Best Screenplay” at the American Black Film Festival. He is currently working on ‘The Benko File, which tells the story of an ominous life force from beyond our world.
